Okay, guys? I have problems. Yeah. I know. How surprising. [Warren shrugs, smiling. He doesn't mind. But onto the serious business.]

One. Why don't we have fixed sentences? I mean, seriously. If this is a prison and not an asylum, can't we reasonably have some guestimate as to how long we're gonna be here for? Because this indefinite shit? It's not helping anyone. Really, trust me on this.

Second. You know how people are getting murdered when Iago feels like he needs a sandwich or whatever? What about the non-murderous people, like me? Why don't we ever get rewarded for being good little prison zombies? Because seriously, people are less likely to do bad stuff if they've got things to lose. And at the moment, people don't have any chance of freedom and nothing really important to stop them from messing with the other inmates.

Thirdly. [He stops, leaning towards the camera.] Since I've just like, enlightened you all so much, I don't suppose anyone's got some smokes?

[Yeah, Warren's just fishing for free stuff at the same time as being a bit astute with dubious motives.]

Yeah, that's sometimes how it goes. It can precede you right into the courtroom where the judge is hearing your case.

Sure, I get it. It's pretty rough that most people probably will just believe what she says straight out.

I've never had that one, personally, but it is true, comrade.

Exactly. It's... kind of disappointing, comrade, when I've done nothing wrong.

I'd recommend getting use to it. These people aren't gonna change, so they probably will assume that you won't either.

[identity profile] equalsfive.livejournal.com 2010-09-16 12:47 pm (UTC)(link)
I suppose you're right, comrade.

Disappointing, when their whole mission is to get people to change, isn't it?

[identity profile] warrenwhite.livejournal.com 2010-09-16 12:55 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, it is. That's why I wanted to know about fixed sentences. Because no one is gonna get out of here any other way. Unless you're really lucky like Swing.

[identity profile] equalsfive.livejournal.com 2010-09-16 12:58 pm (UTC)(link)
But surely, comrade, that'll just have some inmates determinedly sticking out their time without doing a thing to improve, because then that's not a condition of escaping anymore.

[Because this is what he'd do...]

[identity profile] warrenwhite.livejournal.com 2010-09-16 01:08 pm (UTC)(link)
Depressing, right? [Warren sighs. He's looking at his future.] So there's no hope of escape at all?

[identity profile] equalsfive.livejournal.com 2010-09-16 01:12 pm (UTC)(link)
Not unless you comply, I imagine, comrade.

Quite a... simple system of control, but an effective one.

[identity profile] warrenwhite.livejournal.com 2010-09-16 01:15 pm (UTC)(link)
Control overall. Internal control isn't so great, as far as I'm concerned.

[identity profile] equalsfive.livejournal.com 2010-09-16 01:19 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, no, but that's not entirely a bad thing, comrade.

Not from where I'm sitting. Even if this place is better than Arkham.
